Artist's Statement

"My new series celebrates the elements of nature which inspire my life and my work. Manipulating found, forged and fabricated steel and using images of the earth, moon and sun, I try to tell a story from my memory. For example, the sculpture 'Storm of Passion* is a statement of my love for the mountains and all of the elements that are contained within them, The ring of leaves around the top becomes the sun. feeding them life. 'Winds of Change* symbolizes movement of light and air. with a constant shifting of the earth represented by a single piece of marble which rocks back and forth. My vision of the spirit world working together with the natural world is expressed in "Elements of Reason". Relying on emotions and materials, I work each sculpture without plans or drawings, as pure assemblage. I let my passion for life show me my work, honoring the elements that give us life,
